OUR FAMILY HISTORY
The Garden of Luce
Belle Luce Cosmétiques is a Swiss natural skincare brand founded by Mildred Dandelot in Versegères, in the Val de Bagnes (Valais).
It all began in the garden of Luce, a peaceful haven nestled in the heart of the Valais mountains. Created by our family decades ago, this garden was full of alpine and aromatic plants, grown with love and respect for nature. Our first recipes were born there, and it is this family heritage that we carry on today.
We work with Valais farmers and with a cooperative specialised in growing edelweiss. Our plants come from organic, local farming, and our growing methods are based on a partnership with Agroscope, the Swiss federal centre of excellence for agricultural research.
THE FOUNDER
Mildred Dandelot
Mildred started by creating her own skincare from the alpine plants of the family garden. Her passion for plants led her to train in natural cosmetology in Paris, with a chemist from a prestigious cosmetics brand, and then with herbalists, horticulturists, distillers and aromatherapists.
Along the way, she discovered edelweiss: a flower that survives cold, wind and intense UV radiation at high altitude. She made it the heart of Belle Luce, with one conviction: to bring together in every formula the strength of alpine plants and the rigour of science.

Between craftsmanship and science
The plants we select are processed into plant extracts with a laboratory specialised in Swiss alpine plants. We combine them with carefully chosen active ingredients, such as Fucocert®, a natural-origin biotech active ingredient obtained by fermenting plant sugars.
- Made in small batches, to guarantee freshness.
- Produced according to good manufacturing practices for cosmetics (ISO 22716).
- A dedicated formula for each product.
Our Edelweiss Eye Contour Elixir has undergone dermatological and ophthalmological testing.

Valais edelweiss, our signature plant
Edelweiss, the “star of the glaciers”, grows where few plants can survive. To withstand high altitude, it naturally produces antioxidant molecules, including leontopodic acid. Our edelweiss extract comes from crops grown in Valais. It is at the heart of the Edelweiss Day Cream and the Eye Contour Elixir.
